Joe Pye Weed
This wildflower is a late summer bloomer. It offers pollen to bumble bees and other pollinators at the end of the summer as the days now short and cooler. It likes shade and damp feet.

Wild Rose
This lovely little rose is one of the early roses. It is called smooth rose, because it does not have prices at the top. New the bottom of the stalk you will find thorns.

Sphinx Moth and Fireweed
The Sphinx Moth has a long proboscis to reach into deep flowers. The Fireweed is a common roadside flower along the northern tier of the United States.

Cutleaf Coneflower
This bright yellow coneflower blooms in the late summer. It’s leaves have deep grooves, hence “cutleaf.” It grows almost 6 feet tall. It offers its load of pollen to the late summer bees.

Rigid Goldenrod
This goldenrod has leaves that clasp the stem, distinguishing it from many of the other goldenrods. It creates colonies with its underground rhizomes.
